Muslims increase their hours of worship during the final ten days of the holy month, which begins on Tuesday, in preparation for Laylat Al-Qadr, the most significant night in the Islamic calendar.

Although the specific night is unknown, Laylat Al-Qadr commemorates the night when the Prophet Muhammad first received the Qur'an. It is said to have taken place on one of the last ten nights of Ramadan.
