The General Directorate of Narcotics Control seized 1.8 million amphetamine pills from a hidden underground storage facility at a farm in Sakaka, in the Jouf region on Wednesday, Jul. 12.

Three Saudi citizens and a Yemeni citizen were arrested for hiding the pills.

They were referred to the Public Prosecution, which will carry out the necessary legal procedures against them. 

The operation was one of many that have been carried out in recent days to foil drug smuggling attempts.

In one operation, Border Guard land patrols stopped two smuggling attempts by seizing 300 kilograms of qat.

In another operation, two individuals were arrested for selling hashish. 

Government officials have requested people to report any suspicious activity at a confidential hotline 1910 or to email at 1910@zatca.gov.sa.
