The beginning of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah, one of the holiest months in the Islamic calendar, was announced on Sunday by the Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia.

Eid Al-Adha will be observed starting June 28th as a result of the crescent's sighting.

The Hajj pilgrimage, one of Islam's Five Pillars, is performed at Mecca during Dhul Hijjah, the 12th and last month of the Islamic lunar calendar.

The ninth day of Dhul Hijjah is the Day of Arafat, which will fall on Tuesday, June 27th.
