Saudi Arabia on Tuesday appointed two female ambassadors at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh before King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

Nesreen Al-Shebel has been assigned as ambassador to Finland, while Haifa Al-Jedea was assigned Ambassador and Head of Saudi Arabia's Mission to the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community (EAEC).

Al-Shebel and Al-Jedea took the oath of office along with a number of other newly appointed envoys.


Princess Reema bint Bandar became Saudi Arabia’s first female ambassador in 2019., then Amal al-Moallimi was appointed as Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Norway – making her the Kingdom’s second female ambassador in 2020. 

In 2021, Inas al-Shahwan was sworn in as Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Sweden and Iceland.

Saudi has now a total of five female ambassadors representing the country.
