This important registration process is governed by the Law of Antiquities, Museums, and Urban Heritage. It grants the commission the authority to officially recognize and document these remarkable sites. The commission's crucial tasks include identifying and registering cultural sites, managing them with the help of digital maps, and safeguarding their historical significance.

If you're a Saudi citizen or resident, you can also play a part in this amazing endeavor. You can report any urban heritage sites or buildings for registration through the commission's official channels, such as the urban heritage service reporting platform, their account on Twitter (or X), or even by contacting their branches throughout the Kingdom.
