Saudi Arabia's Saudization Program Expanding to Include More Sectors

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) in Saudi Arabia has revealed its plans to extend Saudization, which is the national program aimed at increasing the number of Saudi nationals employed in the private sector.

This expansion involves including new professions and activities such as project management, procurement and sales, outlets for shipping activities and freight brokerage, and outlets for decor and women's tailoring.

The Saudi Arabian government has initiated Saudization, a multi-phased program, to generate employment opportunities for young Saudi men and women. The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) has collaborated with other ministries and regulatory bodies to implement Saudization with the goal of offering more engaging and productive job opportunities for Saudis and boosting their participation in the labor market.

The program aims to promote the employment of Saudi nationals in both the public and private sectors and to reduce the country's reliance on foreign workers.

As part of its Saudization program, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) in Saudi Arabia is extending the initiative to include project management professions such as project managers and project management specialists.

In cooperation with the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing, Saudization of this sector will be executed in two phases. The first phase aims to achieve 35 percent Saudization, followed by the second phase targeting 40 percent of the total number of project management professionals in firms that have three or more employees, with a minimum wage of SR6000.
