New Ettifaq Coach Steven Gerrard Speaking Arabic

Steven Gerrard has delivered a video message in Arabic to fans of Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq after being appointed as the Saudi Arabian club's new head coach on Monday.

The video had been taken by Gerrard himself, holding the camera and speaking in Arabic for the first time in his life.

It was a short message. He said: "Hello, I'm Steven Gerrard. I am an Al-Ettifaqi." 

The 43-year-old former Liverpool captain then ended the video by speaking in English to say: "See you soon."

Earlier on Monday, Ettifaq's social media team posted a montage of clips from Gerrard's playing career, announcing Gerrard as the new head coach. 

He is the latest big name to move to Saudi Arabia, after a huge push in the country to improve its domestic league.
