Saudi Arabia Reveals Logo of the Kingdom's Space Mission to ISS

The Saudi Space Commission revealed the logo on Monday for the Kingdom's scientific mission to the International Space Station (ISS).

Two Saudi astronauts Rayana Bernawi and Ali Al-Qarni will be part of this space mission and they are the first Saudi astronauts to travel to ISS. Bernawi is also the first Arab, Muslim, and Saudi astronaut.

The logo signifies the goals of the Kingdom's scientific mission, which include the empowerment of people, protecting the planet, and creating new horizons through the astronauts' research at the space station in the fields of health and environmental sustainability.

The logo will be placed on the official uniforms of the astronauts because it is conventional for all space flights to have a logo for each space mission.

The logo features KSA's flag, which represents the identity, culture, and heritage of the country. The names of the two Saudi astronauts Rayana Bernawi and Ali Al-Qarni feature on one side of the flag.

In addition to the flag and the names, the logo also highlights Saudi Arabia's location on the world map. Furthermore, there are two laser beams shown shooting off from the Kingdom's location on the world map, symbolizing the country's space mission to ISS.

The space mission's logo highlights Saudi Arabia's efforts in space exploration and research as well as the Saudi people's contributions to space programs, which is part of achieving the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
