Saudi Arabia's First Cruise Line to Launch Red Sea Voyages

Saudi Arabia’s first-ever cruise line, AROYA Cruises, is preparing to set sail across the Red Sea, offering travelers a new way to explore the Kingdom’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. The cruise season officially begins on September 20, promising sun-soaked sea days and vibrant stops at regional destinations.

The itineraries include Saba Beach on Jabal Al-Sabaya Island, as well as popular Egyptian ports like Safaga, Sharm El-Sheikh, and a newly added route to Marsa Alam. Backed by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), the cruise line aims to attract Saudi nationals, expatriates, and international travelers alike.

The name AROYA merges “Arabian” with roya, meaning vision or dream, reflecting its mission to deliver world-class hospitality while spotlighting the region’s cultural heritage, warm hospitality, and breathtaking landscapes.

Launched in June 2023 as a division of Cruise Saudi, AROYA Cruises already boasts an impressive flagship vessel. The ship offers 1,678 cabins, 29 dining venues, 20 entertainment options, and a wide range of amenities designed to appeal to every type of traveler.

Saudi Arabia also has ambitious long-term goals for its cruise industry. Cruise Saudi aims to welcome 1.3 million cruise passengers annually by 2035, while also creating 50,000 direct and indirect jobs.

With AROYA Cruises at the helm, the Kingdom is positioning itself as a new luxury cruise hub, blending modern leisure with authentic Arabian experiences.
