Red Sea Global to Grow 50M Trees in Saudi Arabia

Red Sea Global has launched a large nursery project to grow 50 million trees in Saudi Arabia by 2030.

The aim of the project is to promote sustainability and biodiversity.

Mangroves usually grow in coastal intertidal zones and they have one of the highest ratios of carbon dioxide absorption in comparison to other species of trees.

These trees also become home to fish, turtles, snails, birds, seabirds, and different kinds of marine lifeforms.

The Red Sea Global initiative to grow 50 million mangrove trees is part of the Saudi Green Initiative, which helps promote carbon neutrality.

Mangroves also help with temperature regulation and natural desalination.

The mangrove seedlings will be cared for in the nursery for about eight months until they reach a height of 80 cm.

After that, these seedlings will be transplanted into designated mangrove parks where they will flourish and help in the conservation of the Red Sea coastline.
