Saudi Student Killed in UK to Be Buried in Makkah on Friday

Mohammed Al-Qassim, a 21-year-old Saudi student, tragically lost his life in the UK after being fatally stabbed in what authorities are calling a targeted attack. His death has sparked grief across Saudi Arabia and beyond.

Burial Set for Friday in Makkah

Al-Qassim’s body will arrive in Saudi Arabia on Thursday, with funeral prayers scheduled after Friday prayers on August 8 at the Grand Mosque in Makkah. He’ll be buried at Al-Shuhada Cemetery in the Al-Shara’i district.

What Happened in the UK

According to a British medical report, Mohammed was killed instantly after receiving a deep stab wound to the neck. The weapon used was one commonly linked to homicides, and the attacker showed clear intent, according to officials.

Legal Action Underway

British authorities have charged the main suspect, Chaz Corrigan, with murder and possession of a weapon in public. Corrigan pleaded not guilty in court, claiming self-defense. The next court hearing is set for September 8.

Saudi Response & Embassy Support

The Saudi embassy in London is working closely with UK officials to follow the case and ensure justice is served. Mohammed’s family thanked the embassy for its support and vowed to see the legal process through to the end.

A Life Remembered

Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, mourned the young student, calling him a kind, respectful, and devoted volunteer at the Grand Mosque. His family says Mohammed will be remembered for his good character and selflessness.
