Makkah Is Expected to Have More Buildings for Next Hajj Season

Saudi Arabia is expected to increase the number of buildings in Makkah to house Muslim pilgrims during next year's Hajj pilgrimage season, according to Osama Zaytuni, a spokesman for the Makkah mayoralty.

Zaytuni added that authorities in Makkah have so far issued licenses for 3,800 buildings to be used for accommodating pilgrims during the upcoming Hajj.

He expected the number to exceed 5,000 buildings by the next Hajj season.

Almost 2 million pilgrims performed Hajj in Saudi Arabia earlier this year, marking the return of their numbers to pre-pandemic levels.
