Inaugural AlUla Falcon Cup Set to Soar on This Date!

Calling all falcon enthusiasts and skilled falconers! The inaugural AlUla Falcon Cup is gearing up to captivate audiences from Thursday, December 28th, to Friday, January 5th, at the Mughaira Heritage Sports Village in AlUla. 

As one of the oldest human activities, falconry and falcon racing hold profound cultural significance in the Arabian Peninsula, making this event a historical milestone in reintroducing these traditions to the region.

Anticipate witnessing some of the finest displays of falconry against the backdrop of AlUla's breathtaking scenery. With over 2,000 top falconers in competition, the nine-day extravaganza promises to showcase the prowess, speed, and beauty of these majestic birds. 

The event boasts a record-breaking prize pool of SAR60 million ($16 million), making it a landmark occasion in the world of falconry.

The AlUla Falcon Cup will feature two main competitions – the Falcon Race Competition and the Falcon Mazayen best-of-breed show. The Falcon Race Competition will unveil falcons' racing techniques, highlighting the strong bond between falconers and their birds. It offers insights into how falconers command and communicate with their feathered companions.

The Falcon Mazayen competition will focus on selecting the most beautiful falcons across various breeds. Expect a fierce contest that embodies excellence, dedication, and skill, showcasing the beauty of these magnificent creatures.

The Falcon Race Competition will run daily from Thursday, December 28th, to Friday, January 5th, between 8 am and 5 pm. The Falcon Mazayen competition will take place from Tuesday, January 2nd, to Thursday, January 4th, from 8 pm to 10 pm.

General admission to the AlUla Falcon Cup is free, providing access to both competitions. For SAR150, premium admission grants entry to a luxurious lounge with complimentary refreshments.
