The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Endurance Cup 2023

The fourth edition of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques International Endurance Cup 2023 returns to AlUla in Saudi Arabia on March 4th, 2023.

The Royal Commission for AlUla, in partnership with the Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation and the International Equestrian Federation, will welcome 200 male and female riders for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Endurance Cup 2023.

Endurance Cup 2023 Race

Endurance is a long-distance race against the clock testing the speed and durability of a horse and challenging riders over their effective use of pace, thorough knowledge of their horse’s capabilities, and ability to navigate different types of terrain. 

The course will comprise of 120 km of natural tracks within the magnificent landscape of AlUla and will be divided into four loops that vary in distance with the first being the longest at 38.2km in length and the last being the shortest at 22.4km.

AlUla Racetrack

The purpose-built desert arena set among the extraordinary landscapes of the Equestrian Village will showcase the stunning landscapes, natural beauty, and ancient history of the destination.

The participating jockeys will experience a unique adventure along the racetrack located close to the Al-Hijr area, which is the first Saudi site to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Endurance Cup 2023 Riders

Male and female Endurance riders from over 40 countries will participate in this global race, which sets the benchmark for endurance racing worldwide.

Uruguayan riders Federico Ferber and Andres Rivero who finished 1st and 2nd in the 2022 race respectively are returning to AlUla this year, while French riders Margot Chazel and Camille Coulomb will be among the top female riders in the race.

There will be local representation in the race, with four Saudi riders will participate in the race, wearing their official AlUla uniforms and bridles.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques International Endurance Cup 2023 is one of the key events and festivals taking place at AlUla this year. The historic destination is hosting unique events all year round touching on art, wellness, heritage, adventure, sports, and music.
