Musaned Platform Enables Transfer of House Workers' Service

Domestic workers can now be transferred between individual employers through the ministry's Musaned platform starting August 1st, according to a statement from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD).

The new service enables Saudi nationals to transfer domestic worker services from their present employer to a new employer through an easier electronic process, in compliance with the terms and conditions and hiring rules.

The statement said, “The transfer process would take place after the approval of all parties involved in the contractual relationship, such as the current employer, the domestic worker, and the new employer. The payment process shall be undertaken via reliable electronic payment channels through the platform, and that is strictly in accordance with the price ceiling set by the ministry.”

A fixed-term employment contract with provisions that reserve the rights of both the employer and the domestic worker will be issued as part of this procedure, according to the ministry, and it will be shared with both parties for approval. This procedure will help preserve the rights of the employer and the domestic worker upon transfer.

The ministry has introduced the new service as a part of its ongoing efforts to improve the domestic labor market in the Kingdom, as well as to improve hiring standards, uphold rights, manage the contractual relationships between all parties involved, and exert the highest possible control over the costs associated with moving workers from one employer to another.

It is significant that the ministry has designated the Musaned platform as its official website for home employment programs and domestic services, outlining the rights and responsibilities of both the employer and the employee.

As the platform offers a variety of services to enhance and facilitate the recruitment process as well as handle complaints and conflicts that may arise between the contracting parties, in addition to preserving their rights, it is one of the measures to promote the recruitment industry in the Kingdom.
