King Faisal Specialist Hospital Ranked 20th Best AMC Hospital Globally

King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSHRC) ranked 20th in Brand Finance's list of "2023 World's Top 250 Hospitals", which made it the first-best hospital in the Middle East and Africa (MEA).

The inaugural list was based on a study by brand valuation consultancy Brand Finance revealing the brand strength of the world’s leading Academic Medical Centre (AMC) Hospitals.

Mayo Clinic Health System came in first place on the list that was dominated by US healthcare institutions.

KFSHRC scored high in several aspects of Brand Finance's Academic Medical Hospital (AMC) research. The hospital particularly received a high score for its patient treatment and for its excellent reputation in the MENA region for its well-integrated education and research facilities.  

KFSHRC has received five awards at the Patient Safety Awards 2023, organized by Saudi Patient National Safety Center (SPSC).  The awards were for the hospital's various achievements including developing a Framework for Performance Improvement Operations and creating a hip fracture pathway for the improvement of patient well-being. 

The hospital's high ranking has also resulted from Saudi Arabia’s Health Sector Transformation Program, which is one of the initiatives under Vision 2030.

Along with King Faisal Specialist Hospital, six other Saudi hospitals made it to the list: King Abdullah Medical City, King Saud Medical City, King Fahad Medical City, Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs, King Fahd Hospital of the University, and King Khalid University Hospital. 

Brand Finance’s study examined more than 500 hospitals globally and more than 30 performance indicators were analyzed including healthcare, education, and research centres. It also surveyed 2,500 leading healthcare professionals to build a peer-driven analysis of the performance of the world's leading AMC Hospitals
