Saudi Social Media Influencers Fined for Nudity Content

Saudi Arabia's Media Regulatory Authority has levied fines totaling 400,000 Saudi riyals (around $106,000) against four well-known social media personalities. The authority also suspended their "Muwthak" licenses, which are required for celebrities who engage in commercial advertising on their personal social media accounts.

Content Violations

The penalties were imposed for sharing offensive content that goes against societal values, including nudity. The identities of the affected influencers were not revealed.

Ongoing Regulation Efforts

This action is part of a broader effort by Saudi authorities to regulate online behavior and enforce cultural norms. Previous incidents of celebrities violating rules with inappropriate posts have also been reported by local media such as Sabq newspaper. The kingdom continues its commitment to ensuring that social media content aligns with its values.
