A massive sand tornado swept across Taif in the province of Makkah, Saudi Arabia and the tornado was captured in a video that went viral on social media on Monday.

The National Center of Meteorology forecasted on Sunday that thunderstorms of different intensities would hit many regions in the Kingdom over this week. The centre has warned people to expect heavy rain, thunderstorms, over 50 kph sandstorms, hail, and flash floods in most provinces of the country. 

Locals can expect torrential rain that will cause low visibility, therefore the meteorology centre encouraged locals to remain up-to-date with the latest weather news through its media channels and communication services.
