88 Million People Traveled via Saudi Airports in the Year 2022

The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) has revealed that 88 million people traveled via Saudi Arabia's airports in the year 2022, an increase of 81% as compared to 2021.

The figure was made public in 2022 as part of the Air Transport Statistics Publication, which included an in-depth analysis of Saudi Arabia's aviation.
 

For the year 2022, there were 1,443 establishments operating in relation to air carriers, according to the GASTAT bulletin's air transport data. The growth was 20% which comprises passenger carriers, air freight carriers, and allied service providers, such as transportation and cargo handling companies, as well as other supporting tasks.

Compared to the year 2021, there were 28,000 men working in the aviation sector, a 38% increase and the number of working women was 4,000, a 70% increase. GASTAT reported a 41% increase in air operation, with Saudi Arabian Airlines operating the most flights
