Car Key Stuck in Man's Throat Extracted Successfully by Saudi Doctors

In the Al Qunfudhah Governorate of Saudi Arabia, a 49-year-old man was taken to the emergency room after a car key was found to be stuck in his trachea.

The patient underwent an X-ray and clinical examination after being admitted to the hospital, according to the country's Ministry of Health.

A car key had been found to be stuck in his throat after tests. The patient then confessed that he accidentally swallowed the key when he was tampering with it in his mouth. He started to partially suffocate as a result of this.

Doctors found it challenging to get the car keys out because the patient had heart disease. However, an endoscope was used as a surgical intervention. An exceptional feat of laparoscopy facilitated the safe extraction of the key.

The treatment was successful, and the patient was thereafter discharged from the hospital.
