Saudi Arabia's Cybersecurity is Ranked Second Worldwide

The World Competitiveness Yearbook for 2023, published by the Swiss-based International Institute for Management Development, ranked Saudi Arabia second in the world for cybersecurity.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Kingdom improved seven positions from 2022 to 2023, placing 17th overall in the competitiveness ranking.

The current recognition is a credit to the efforts of organizations like the National Cybersecurity Authority, one of Saudi Arabia's important national security institutions as Saudi Arabia often ranks among the top economies in the world for cybersecurity.

Through a number of initiatives to create a solid and long-lasting cybersecurity ecosystem, the Kingdom has solidified its position as a leader.

Saudi Arabia is ranked second on the Global Cyber Security Index by the International Telecommunications Union, which has also recognized it as a global leader in cybersecurity.

The NCA seeks to improve Saudi Arabia's cyberspace so that it can safeguard essential state interests and the country's security.

The organization protects the Kingdom's vital infrastructure, key economic sectors, and official operations from online threats. In terms of cybersecurity, it outlines the standards for granting licenses for the import, export, and use of hardware and software while guaranteeing compliance with those requirements.
