14,244 Illegals Are Arrested Within A Week

Nearly 14,244 violators of residency, labor laws and border security regulations were arrested in different regions of the Kingdom in a week.


The Ministry of Interior has reported that the arrests were made during the joint field campaigns carried out by different security force units throughout the nation from August 3 to 9.

The arrests included 8,398 violators of the residency system, 3,703 violators of the border security rules, and 2,143 violators of the labor laws.

Around 895 people of different nationalities got arrested while they were trying to cross the border into the Kingdom, 54% were Yemenis, 45% were Ethiopians, and 1% were of other nationalities, with 38 violators being caught trying to cross the border to exit Saudi Arabia.

Seven persons, who were engaged in transporting and harboring violators of residency and work regulations and practiced cover-up activities, were arrested.

A total of 38,167 violators are under investigation for violating regulations, of which 31,358 are men and 6,809 are women.


Of them 32,286 violators were referred to their diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents, 1,732 violators were referred to complete their travel reservations, and 9,983 violators were deported.

The Ministry of Interior highlighted that individuals helping the entry, transportation, or shelter of infiltrators within the country will face potential penalties of up to 15 years' imprisonment, along with a maximum fine of SR1 million, in addition to the confiscation of the means of transportation and accommodation.
