KSA is the Country With the Second-Fastest Tourism Growth Worldwide

According to the World Tourism Organization (WTO) report, Saudi Arabia is ranked among the top countries receiving international visitors in 2022, moving up 12 places to position 13 from the 25th position in 2019.

More than 16 million tourists from abroad visited the Kingdom in 2022 for all kinds of travel. The World Tourist Barometer report for May 2023 published by the WTO shows that the Kingdom also rose 16 spots in the international tourist revenue index, reaching 11th position in 2022 compared to 27th place internationally in 2019.

During the first quarter of 2023, the Kingdom saw growth in the tourism industry, welcoming 7.8 million tourists from across the world. This demonstrates the sector's best quarterly performance, increasing by 64% from the same time last year. According to the most recent WTO data, the nation also came in second on the list of tourist destinations with the highest growth over time.

This accomplishment, according to Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb, is an addition to the Kingdom's previous successes in a number of different industries. It also represents the achievement of the leadership's directives to keep improving the Kingdom's standing on the world tourism stage and increasing its GDP contribution in line with Vision 2030 for the Kingdom.
