KSA Launches 'Elevate Program' to Train Women in AI and Data

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has collaborated with Google Cloud and launched the first phase of the 'Elevate Program', which will train 1,000 women from 28 countries in artificial intelligence (AI) and data.

An announcement about the 'Elevate Program' was made at the second edition of the Global AI Summit, which was held in Riyadh in September 2022.

The program will run until August 30th, 2023, and the first phase of the program will include training from 16 female and male trainers, which will be provided by the authority.

The first phase will be offered through two tracks: one for specialists and another for non-specialists who wish to improve their skills through the program.

The 'Elevate Program' will also include free training sessions that will help participants acquire skills required for jobs such as cloud engineer, data engineer, machine learning (ML) engineer, or cloud business.

The authority aims to empower women through this program by training them to pursue new jobs in AI and ML sectors. The authority aims to train more than 25,000 women during the next five years through this program.

Women working in the fields of science and technology are eligible for this program and are keen on pursuing careers in AI, ML, and data, and the program will help them enhance their skills for increasing job opportunities in these fields.

The SDAIA have introduced this program to reduce the gender gap in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields and to achieve the goals of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.
