Saudi Authorities Arrest Nearly 15,000 in One Week

Saudi authorities have taken swift action, arresting a 14,955 individuals within just one week for various breaches of residency, work, and border security regulations.

The official report outlines that 9,080 individuals were apprehended for residency law violations, with 3,088 detained for attempting illegal border crossings, and another 2,787 held for labor-related infractions.

Statistics revealed that of the 849 individuals nabbed for illegal entry attempts into the Kingdom, 42% hailed from Yemen, 56% from Ethiopia, with the remaining 2% representing other nationalities. Additionally, 99 individuals were caught attempting to cross into neighboring countries, while six were apprehended for aiding and abetting violators.

The Saudi Ministry of Interior underscores the severity of aiding illegal entry, citing imprisonment up to 15 years, fines reaching SR1 million ($260,000), and potential vehicle and property confiscation.
