Citizen Sentenced to 15 Years in Jail for Drug Possession

A Saudi citizen found guilty of possessing drugs with the intent to sell them was sentenced to 15 years in jail by a specialized Saudi court. According to a public prosecutor official source, the court also issued a similar-length travel ban.

Other defendants who were found guilty of covering up the crime for which they were found guilty despite their presence at the crime scene were also given various prison sentences by the court.

The Narcotics Prosecution wing, according to the source, has finished the steps necessary to investigate the citizen for alleged drug possession.

Investigations revealed that the citizen was committing the crime of drug promotion in an apartment he had set up in the Jeddah governorate for this purpose.

Eight bags of the substance methamphetamine as well as other drugs were discovered during the raid on the citizen's flat. The hideout also contained tools for using drugs, scales, and empty bags used for packing drugs.

The case was referred by the Public Prosecution to the appropriate court, which declared a verdict following trials.
