Saudi Film Confex to Debut in Riyadh This October

The Saudi Film Confex, a brand-new industry event by the Saudi Film Commission, is scheduled to make its debut in Riyadh this October, according to an emailed press release to Saudi Moments.

The four-day conference and exhibition, which will take place in BLVD Expo from October 1st to 4th, will establish the groundwork for the kingdom's upcoming film industry endeavors and draw top filmmakers, producers and directors from around the world.

With the aim of boosting the industry's presence and promoting the economic value of the film industry, Saudi Film Confex will feature curated workshops and six interactive zones.

These zones will include the inspirational zone where top creators will share their journeys and big-picture trends in the industry and the innovation zone where the cutting-edge technology and new product concepts will be displayed.

This is in addition to the experience zone where recent developments and trends in filmmaking will be introduced to visitors and business zone that will see the signing of some agreements and partnerships.

There will be also a destination gallery to showcase the most unique shooting locations in the Kingdom.

Saudi Film Confex will focus on three primary topics namely: industry trends, global practices, and challenges and opportunities in filmmaking.

Abdullah Al Eyaf, CEO of the Film Commission, said: “The highly anticipated debut of Saudi Film Confex marks an important milestone for the local film industry, especially as the Kingdom continues to see increased interest around its entertainment capacity and offerings."

"The conference will provide a platform for both regional and international industry players to connect and will serve as an urban foundation for the collective creation of new techniques and technologies. We are excited to see how the event will impact the evolution of filmmaking in Saudi Arabia and around the world,” he added.
