Warning of a Severe Heatwave From the Saudi Ministry of Health

A severe heatwave is expected to hit Saudi Arabia this week and persist through the end of the week, hence the country's Ministry of Health has advised residents to exercise caution when going outdoors.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the ministry highlighted the concerns, including dry skin, sunstroke, and heat exhaustion, in an infographic that was posted on its Twitter account on Wednesday.

Between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., people should either stay inside or in shaded areas outside.

Wearing long, protective clothing, covering one's head, applying sunscreen, donning sunglasses, and drinking plenty of water and other fluids are all recommendations for those going outside.

A heatwave is expected to last through the end of the week across the Kingdom, with temperatures in the Eastern Province reaching 48 to 50 degrees Celsius, as well as 46 to 48 in Riyadh's eastern and southern neighborhoods, eastern Qassim, and western Madinah.
