Saudi Arabia Foils 2 Attempts to Smuggle Over 1 Kilogram of Marijuana

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) in Saudi Arabia has foiled two attempts two smuggle 1.029 kilograms of marijuana into the Kingdom.

The marijuana was discovered hidden in incoming consignments through both the customs of King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and King Fahad International Airport in Dammam.
This amount of marijuana was found during the detection and inspection process on a number of parcels coming to Saudi Arabia via express transport, ZATCA said.

The authority has not disclosed how many people were arrested in this crime, nor their nationalities.
ZATCA is currently working with the General Directorate of Drug Control (GDNC) to tighten procedures around Saudi Arabia's imports and exports.
