An attempt to smuggle 6,072,291 amphetamine pills hidden in a cargo of nuts and candies was thwarted by Saudi police, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) said on Saturday.

The operation was conducted in collaboration with the relevant Omani authorities including the General Authority of Zakat and Tax of the Kingdom.
A resident and a visitor who were supposed to receive the shipment in Riyadh have been arrested.
