The suspects tried to smuggle the pills by hiding them inside a vehicle, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) announced.

When inspecting the vehicle, the tablets were disguised in boxes holding thyme-covered cheese.

Two people were arrested after the seizure process was completed in collaboration with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC), according to ZATCA.

Saudi Arabia regularly announces seizures of Captagon.

The drug is known to come from Syria and transits through Lebanon in cargo such as fruit and vegetables.
