The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) successfully foiled the smuggling operation at Jeddah Islamic Port, where the illicit drugs, weighing 27.6kg, were discovered hidden inside the air conditioner unit of the potato shipment.

Collaborating with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, ZATCA apprehended two individuals who were intended recipients of the contraband.

ZATCA reiterated its commitment to strengthening customs surveillance across the Kingdom's borders to combat smuggling activities effectively. It urged the public to play a proactive role in safeguarding society and the national economy by reporting any instances of drug smuggling through designated channels.

To report smuggling activities or violations of customs regulations, individuals can contact ZATCA via phone at 1910, email at 1910@zatca.gov.sa, or the international number 00966114208417. Informants may receive a financial reward for providing accurate information, with all reports treated confidentially.
