Border guards in Jazan's Al Ardah governate busted a smuggling attempt of 400 kilograms of khat on Sunday, Jul. 23.

The seized narcotics were handed over to the competent authorities and the relevant legal procedures are being carried out against the culprits.
Saudi authorities also foiled an attempt to smuggle six million amphetamine pills on Saturday, Jul. 22 and the drugs were found in a shipment of citrus fruits and nuts.
Recently, a Saudi national was imprisoned for 25 years and fined SR 150,000 for promoting the use of amphetamine pills.
The authorities have requested people to report any suspicious activity related to drug smuggling at 911 in the Makkah, Riyadh, and Eastern Province regions or at 999 for the other regions in the Kingdom.
