Founding Day: Saudi Residents to Enjoy a Long Weekend!

Saudi Arabia is gearing up for the annual celebration of its founding day on February 22nd, a new holiday established in 2022 by King Salman. Citizens and residents will enjoy a three-day weekend as the Kingdom's weekend spans Friday to Saturday.

This holiday commemorates the establishment of the first Saudi state three centuries ago in 1727 under Imam Muhammad bin Saud's leadership. The festivities include cultural and artistic events honoring the country's rich history.

The celebration showcases the Kingdom's progress, driven by the Saudi Vision 2030 initiative, highlighting various stages of prosperity. 

Activities include military performances, air shows, and other events paying homage to Saudi Arabia. Students will have February 22nd off, marking the beginning of a semester break. 

This Founding Day holiday reflects the significance of Saudi rule and provides an opportunity for reflection on the nation's historical journey. The three-day celebration underscores the country's commitment to fostering cultural pride and unity among its people.
