Saudi Designer Mona Al-Furayan Releases Founding Day Collection

Mona Al-Furayan has launched a collection for her clothing brand Jelbab for Founding Day, which is celebrated on February 22nd.

For the collection, Al-Furayan used two materials: a gold and black headband called Eqal Al-Moqassab for men and a dress made of tulle fabric called Jelbab for women. 

Al-Furayan told Arab News “We used the headband in a way that it is worn on a kaftan. We tried to develop it without losing its identity and giving the piece an extraordinary value.” 

Jelbab has collaborated with Harvey Nichols for the Founding Day collection. Al-Furayan also said, "Jelbab is associated with (the) Harvey Nichols name because the brand is one of the first Saudi brands that was displayed there (from) 2015 until today... this year our ambition is to be a global Saudi brand.” 

Al-Furayan started her clothing brand in 2014 and has participated since then in prestigious events like the Mercedes Fashion Show in Qatar.
