KSA: Over 25K Job Opportunities to be Created in the IT Industry

With projects like NEOM and The Red Sea moving full steam ahead toward completion as part of Vision 2030, employment opportunities in Saudi Arabia continue to grow across a variety of industries.

According to a recent report by Qrator Labs, employment in the Kingdom's cybersecurity and information technology (IT) sectors has increased significantly over the past five years, and it is expected to continue to grow in the years to come.

As per the report, the Kingdom's information and communication technology (ICT) strategy for 2023 calls for the creation of over 25,000 fresh employment opportunities with 50% growth in the size of the IT industry and emerging technologies. Analysts in cybersecurity and network engineering are in particularly high demand. This will also result in a surge of $13.3 billion in the sector's contribution to overall GDP.

The report said, “Growth is primarily being driven by digital transformation efforts in the government, telecom, finance, and oil and gas sectors, with an increased focus on giga-projects, smart cities, and e-governance.”

It is anticipated that the IT sector will continue to expand in the future, creating more employment possibilities and opening up new investment prospects in the Kingdom owing to the Saudi government's commitment to investing gradually in cybersecurity and programs aimed at protecting digital assets from cyber-attacks.
