Haramain Train Brings the First Group of Pilgrims for Hajj 2023

The fastest electric train in the Middle East has brought the first group of pilgrims from Jeddah and Madinah to Makkah to start the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, according to the SPA news agency on Friday.
 

The Grand Mosque's pilgrims are served by one of the world's longest trains, the Haramain, which has a fleet of 15 trains and a seating capacity of 1.5 million people.

One of the six fastest trains in the world, the HHR travels the distance between Makkah and Madinah in a record-breaking two hours and twenty minutes. 

This service is provided by the transport and logistics system to improve integration and interdependence with all modes of transportation.

Its road network is for 453 kilometers, and its top speed is 300 kilometers per hour.
35 electric trains are used to run the Haramain express train, which has a capacity of 417 passengers per train and is divided into 13 carriages with a total of 304 economy class seats and 113 business class seats spread across five business class compartments, catering services, and eight economy class compartments.
