No Umrah Permits After 15 Dhul Qadah

The deadline for issuing permits to perform Umrah this season is the 15th Dhul Qadah, corresponding to June 4th, Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced on Monday.

The decision was made in advance of the Hajj pilgrims' arrival in Saudi Arabia.

The ministry reaffirmed that pilgrims cannot perform the Hajj with an Umrah visa. All pilgrims with visas for the Umrah must depart by the 20th Dhul Qadah, or June 18th.

Residents who do not have a special entry pass for the Hajj season are prohibited from entering Makkah, according to a previous announcement by the General Directorate of Public Security. At the access points on the routes going to Makkah, anybody without permits will be sent back.

As per the rules for planning the Hajj in 1444 AH, the ban became effective on the 25th of Shawwal.
