Saudi Arabia Announces Eid al-Adha Holiday for Private Sector 2023

After the confirmation of the dates for Eid al-Adha in Saudi Arabia, the Eid al-Adha holiday has been announced on Monday for the private sector this year.

According to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social development, the public and private sector employees will enjoy a four-day holiday starting from Arafat day which should fall on Tuesday June 27th.

In addition to the two-day weekend which includes Friday & Saturday, it is reported that certain employees will be granted an additional day on Sunday, July 2nd, making it their fourth day off.

Following the announcement from Saudi Arabia's Supreme Court regarding the sighting of the Dhul Hijjah crescent, which marks the start of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah, one of the holiest months in the Islamic calendar, this decision has been made. With the crescent’s sighting, Eid al-Adha will be observed on June 28.
