Saudi Arabia Condemns Mosque Bombing in Pakistan

Saudi Arabia condemned and denounced the suicide bombing of a mosque in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar on Monday, January 30th, where over 300 worshippers were praying.

As of Tuesday morning, at least 87 people were killed and over 150 were injured in one of Pakistan's deadliest attacks in recent years.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Saudi Arabia's firm stance that rejects violence, extremism, and terrorism.

In a statement, the ministry also "stressed the Kingdom's firm position that rejects targeting places of worship and terrorizing and shedding the blood of innocent people."

The ministry expressed Saudi Arabia's condolences to the families of the victims, as well as the government and the people of Pakistan. It also wished the injured a speedy recovery.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
