Saudi Arabia Passes Whistleblower Protection Law

The Saudi Council of Ministers has approved a law aimed at safeguarding whistleblowers, witnesses, experts, and victims. The decision was made during the weekly Cabinet session chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman, in Riyadh.

Protecting Those Who Speak Out

The newly approved law is designed to protect individuals who risk their safety by coming forward with crucial information related to crimes. It empowers judicial authorities to ensure the safety of whistleblowers, witnesses, experts, and their families from various threats, including assault, intimidation, and retaliation.

Encouraging Information Sharing

With 39 articles, the law aims to encourage the sharing of information vital to combating crimes while shielding informants and others from any form of harm or interference.
