Over 1.3 Million Pilgrims Arrived in Saudi Arabia to Perform Hajj

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Kingdom welcomed over 1.3 million pilgrims on Monday in light of the Hajj Season throughout Saudi Arabia’s international ports by air, land, and sea.

The airline stated that the total number of pilgrims entering Saudi Arabia through its airports has reached 1,280,240 individuals. whereas, the number of arrivals through land ports was 57,463 pilgrims, while the number count of pilgrims entering through sea ports currently reached 4,648 individuals.

Hajj, which will begin on June 26th, is a yearly pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. This year’s pilgrimage is expected to witness around 2.6 million pilgrims performing the Islamic ritual, Hajj, for the first time since COVID-19.

The security agencies in the Kingdom have been actively involved in the preparations and efforts to ensure a secure and smooth pilgrimage experience.

Saudi Arabia has implemented its largest operational plan for the Hajj, which involves the deployment of thousands of staff members and volunteers to provide assistance to the millions of pilgrims on the ground.
