Saudi Arabia Can Now Grant Citizenship to Selected Individuals

Saudi Arabia has officially changed the nationality law allowing the Saudi Prime Minister and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to grant citizenship to certain people. This major change has been in accordance with a proposal from the Minister of Interior this year.

In January, a change to the Saudi Nationality Law was approved through a royal decree that allows the Prime Minister to grant citizenship by amending Article Eight.

The amendment of Article 8 of the Saudi Nationality Law, which is a significant decision, was officially announced in the "Um Al Qura" gazette on Friday.

The amendment of Article Eight of the Saudi Nationality Law was made after a review of Royal Decree No (M / 88) dated 6/11/1444 AH.

The revised law states that the Prime Minister can grant Saudi nationality based on a proposal from the Minister of Interior. The decision will be effective immediately after its publication in the Official Gazette, and all relevant parties will be informed to comply with the new regulation.
