This New Arabian Highlands Aims to Welcome 10M Visitors by 2030

The Arabian Highlands are soon to host a gigantic tourist destination, Al Wadi Abha, which is set to become a prominent urban and tourism center in the southwest of Saudi Arabia.

Spanning an extensive 2.5 million square meters, the project boasts an impressive 16 kilometers of waterfront, with a remarkable 30 percent of the area dedicated to green spaces. Officially inaugurated by His Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs on October 18, Al Wadi Abha has garnered significant attention.

This visionary project, financially supported by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), is developed by the newly established Ardara company. Situated in the Aseer region, Abha, known for being home to Mount Soudah, the Kingdom's highest peak, offers visitors spectacular views from its lofty 2,910-meter altitude. The fog-covered mountains and pleasant climate make it a natural tourist spot.

The development includes five distinct districts, each offering unique experiences and services, including residential options, hospitality, and recreational areas. Over the next three years, the first phase of the project will launch, with approximately 2,000 residential options. This ambitious undertaking is set to attract an estimated 10 million visitors by 2030, making it a key destination in Saudi Arabia's ever-expanding tourism landscape.
