Saudi Arabia Seizes Over 5 Million Illegal Amphetamine Pills

Saudi Arabia's General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) has thwarted an attempt to smuggle 5,280,000 amphetamine pills into Jeddah.

The official spokesperson of GDNC, Major Marwan Al-Hazmi, said that this huge quantity of amphetamine pills was found hidden in a shipment of stones and building supplies passing through Jeddah Islamic Port.

The seizure operation was carried out in cooperation with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA).

Al-Hazmi said that the security services monitoring drug dealers and smuggling networks resulted in the pills' seizure.

He added that the six individuals who were involved in the crime got arrested, including a Syrian citizen with a visitor's visa, a resident holding Sudanese nationality, and a Saudi citizen.

Al-Hazmi confirmed that the accused were referred to the Public Prosecution.
