Tourism Ministry Requires Ajeer for Ramadan and Hajj Seasonal Hiring

If you’re in hospitality and gearing up for the Ramadan and Hajj rush, listen up.

The Ministry of Tourism has made it clear: all temporary and seasonal hiring must go through the Ajeer platform.

No side deals. No off-platform contracts.

Why Ajeer Matters This Season

With Ramadan in full swing and Hajj season around the corner, demand for hotels and tourism services in Makkah and Madinah is climbing fast.

To keep things smooth, the ministry said tourism establishments can hire temporary workers — but only through Ajeer, which is supervised by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.

The goal? Proper documentation, legal contracts, and protection for both employers and workers.

How the System Works

Tourism businesses can:

  • Register on Ajeer

  • Post seasonal or temporary job openings

  • Use services tailored for peak tourism seasons

The platform connects employers with locally available workers under verified, regulated contracts. It also issues official temporary work permits, keeping everything compliant.

Job seekers can also sign up, browse openings, and apply electronically.

Strict Warning: Don’t Go Around the Platform

The Ministry of Tourism stressed that hiring outside Ajeer is not allowed and could lead to penalties.

Employers are required to offer seasonal jobs exclusively through the platform. At the same time, job seekers are advised not to accept temporary contracts outside the system to protect their rights.

Preparing for the Pilgrim Surge

The reminder comes as hospitality demand spikes in Makkah and Madinah, with thousands of pilgrims arriving for Ramadan and preparing for Hajj.

Authorities are urging tourism facilities to secure enough staff to maintain service quality and ensure visitors can perform their rituals comfortably and smoothly.

Bottom line: if you’re hiring for peak season, do it the right way — through Ajeer.
